It’s the different densities of woods that give us the vast choices in sonic possibilities, but with different possibilities the question arises “What woods would best compliment my style”. The softness of Solid Spruce gives a very mellow sound that can handle a heavy strum with ease. The greater density of Solid Mahogany creates more midrange tones and can be very balanced for a wide variety of styles. The relatively hard Cedar creates a bright tone that finger pickers enjoy.
